About Us 

Welcome to Injury Free Nova Scotia (IFNS).  We are a provincial community-based organization committed to eliminating preventable injuries in Nova Scotia.  We want to be a positive change agent, - helping to build healthy public policy that will lessen injuries and save lives.  We do this first through engaging health care professionals and researchers to share with us the most current and credible evidence on the causes of preventable injuries in this province and identify trends.  We then work with diverse stakeholder groups to assess current policies and determine policy changes that evidence indicates will impact most positively on injury levels.   Through then informing and engaging Nova Scotians to advocate with us for these policy changes, we work in partnership provicially to help create a safer and more secure environment for all Nova Scotians.  We know that most incidents that Nova Scotians have historically referred to as "accidents" are in fact very preventable.  To eliminate these injuries from occurring in the future, we must engage all Nova Scotians to this pursuit.     Can you imagine...
