What Does ACIP Do?

ACIP Home Page 

The purpose of ACIP is to facilitate coordination in injury prevention activities within Atlantic Canada in the following areas:
  • Policy Development & Advocacy
  • Surveillance
  • Program Development, Evaluation & Resources
  • Research
  • Awareness & Education
The ultimate goal is to reduce the burden of injury in Atlantic Canada. To achieve these goals, ACIP does the following:

1. Operates a listserv through SMARTRISK and networking site via the Health Promotion Clearinghouse Network.

2. Provides learning opportunities via an online library and a teleconference learning series.

3. Represents Atlantic Canadian injury prevention and control professionals on the following committees and boards:

o   Atlantic Summer Institute for Healthy and Safe Communities
o   Canadian Collaborating Centres for Injury Prevention and Control

o Injury Prevention and Control Task Group
